Our Surroundings.

Up on arrival at the pier in Sta.Fe, you will be welcomed by one of our Girls, who will guide you to a waiting trickad ( bike with sidecar )  Then you got a only 3 min. trip ahead of you.  First you will pass by Sta Fe Beach Club and up to the main road a nice distance of a few hundred meters with palm trees on both side of the road. Small left turn in-between some small native private cottages  and you are almost there. Our location is not like most beach resorts. No ! we are located in the middle of a small local community (the Fillipino culture 10 – 15 years back) Our neighbors includes fishermen, Coco and Corn farmers and the local boat builder

If you are interested, you can  se how the boat builder works less than 100 meters from here, you can see how he almost creates a miracle, in making a banca with very few tools. He got no electrical machines or modern tools only his bolo, hammer and chisel.

Daily you can follow the life of the fisherman in close up. You do not have to go further than to our terrace at the beachfront, from here you can follow how they take of in their small bancas (small boat, which look like a canoe with two outrigger, one in each side) in the night you can see the light from the boats like a beautiful row of pearls on the sea. In the very early morning most of them return with the catch, whenever it is fish, shells, shrimps or sea cucumber. Go down take a look, though you will often be surprised of how small the fish. Often do they have the size of a little finger, they will be dried in the sun, laying on net. The bigger fish and shrimps will be sold at the local marked, the sea cucumber will be boiled and so prepared for export often to Japan, shells mostly are sent to restaurants in Cebu or end in our restaurant if we get requests from our customers.

Sta.Fe, is located only 7 min. drive by Tricikad from our place, even though the population is around 26.000 citizen, there is very little  retail.

A small marked where you can buy: vegetables, fish and fruits. Also there are a  few sari sari stores, all selling more or less the same items like, cigarettes, tanduay rum, biscuits and other daily necessaries. For those who like  "shell craft" is there a good opportunity to find just the right lamp shade to bring home, here is it a common ”production” in many homes and they are sold everywhere

We got a high school and an big amount of elementary schools. Sta.Fe is, to look at, like an old village that more or less function like it did here 10 – 15 years ago.  Of course do they have some modern things here: the Fillipino are good singers and most homes have got some kind of karaoke and probably also a color TV with antenna for only 1 channel.  Though things like computers and internet are totally strange and not as good as can be found on the main Island of Cebu.
